Les didn’t always want to be a pastor. The jobs he’s held range from chicken-catcher to research chemist to house-painter to fund-raiser...but it’s serving as a pastor where he found his true calling. Les began pastoring here September 2024.  One of his guiding scriptures is Romans 8:31-39.

Les enjoys plumbing the depths of Scripture to help the congregation see with fresh eyes what God is calling them to in this time and space. He has a Master of Divinity from Eastern Mennonite Seminary, Harrisonburg, VA and did additional graduate study in Hebrew Bible at Union Theological Seminary, Richmond, VA.  

Les enjoys finding beauty in the ordinary, both in the natural world and in the lives of friends, family, and strangers.  He is married to Crystal, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a private practice in Harrisonburg, VA.  Les and Crystal have two daughters, both of whom are social workers.
